E4's original TV shows are primarily of the comedy genre, for example Misfits and Inbetweeners. However, they are gaining a lot of attention for their more drama based shows, such as Supernatural and The 100, acquired from different networks. E4 decided to take the risk in creating Clairvoyance, hoping it will reach the success that these similar shows have and with the amazing positive responses from the public, pre-release, it is almost certain to say that Clairvoyance will most likely receive a second season.
Rising British actor, Rahul Malik's most recent project ,Clairvoyance, shows a shocking growth of popularity, weeks before the first episode airs. Co-directors, Shanara Atukorala and Daine Baker-Dee exclusively reveal the casting process. "When we heard from Rahul's manager that he was planning on auditioning for the show, we were quite worried about how he will perform. His participation in the show will be great publicity for us, knowing that Rahul's popularity is constantly rising, but all his works were purely of the comedy genre. We just couldn't imagine what his acting would be like with a more serious atmosphere. He definitely gave us a surprise; a good surprise, when he showed us how diverse of an actor he really is". Along with Malik, Ruth Ladhani, a new actress in the industry, bags the second lead role as Malik's on-screen sister. "This is Ruth's first TV role. She was very nervous at first but it took no time at all for her to get used to the environment and everyone on set. She's made death, very much alive and we assure you that she will soon be one of the most demanded actresses in the UK". Why do the Characters Have Strange Eyes?
Clairvoyance,a French word meaning clear (Clair) vision (Voyance) , is the ability to gain information about a person, place or thing without the use of already known senses. For those of you who haven't seen the first episode, this might give you a sense of what the programme will be about (hate to burst your bubble, but red isn't Ruth's real eye colour, its brown). The cast were given contact lenses to make them seem like their eyes different colours. This was Ruth's first time having to wear contact lenses, " Being someone who has really sensitive eyes, I thought putting contact lenses in my eyes would be really painful but it wasn't that bad. Actually, it didn't feel like I had anything in my eyes at all". A tip for those who want to try contact lenses; if you want clear vision, pun intended, make sure you are buying from a licensed contact lens seller.
What to Look Forward to?
The directors of Clairvoyance disclose the details of what's coming up and what to expect "What you saw in the short preview that was aired last week was nothing. There is going to be a lot more action, drama and you will get to meet a lot more interesting characters. I'm sure everyone is curious as to how Ruth's character has returned and what is the real meaning of the strange eyes but you will just have to tune in to find out" .
